Cho Lon - January 2007
Cock fighting has been popular in Viet Nam for at least 700 years. Some good info can be found on this URL;

It's a pretty wild photo to have on your wall - very eye-catching.
Phan Thiet - 2001
Rain saturated the paint on this wall.
Nha Trang - 1997
Steamed peanuts! Yum!!!
Phu Gia Street, Cho Lon - October 2007
The vibrant colour of the wall, the washing hung to dry, the parked cyclo - some of my favorite things...
Trung Hung Dao Street, Sai Gon - October 2007
Driving down Trung Hung Dao with a student , I was talking about being aware of the beauty around us when I spotted these windows. A building had recently been demolished revealing them. We then talked about shooting from the right angle and decided that we should find a view point where we could shoot it straight on. On top the roof of an old block of flats we took a few shots. I said to my student that it was fabulous, great composition, lots of interest but it was missing 'magic'. I yelled out to the building - 'Could some one please stick their head out of the window - preferably near one of the thirds (intersection of the rule of thirds) - oh - and look into the picture!!!' I laughed and then - voila - a lady on the top right looked out of her window!! I snapped the shot and said - 'See ... that's how you take photos!'
I believe this building was built during the American times.
This photo looks amazing BIG!
Cho Lon (Big Market) is the home of many Chinese who have been living in Viet Nam for generations.
