I am the coordinator of The Love Team, an unofficial charity that raises money for life-saving heart operations for very poor children in Viet Nam. We raise money mostly by my photography students donating the proceeds of their photograph sales at exhibitions but we have also been given money from the Mekong Merchant Charity Bazaar and from generous individuals.
For the last few years we have been working in conjunction with the VinaCapitol Foundation and their HeartBeat Charity. VinaCapitol, a financial services company, matches every donation up to $1,000,000. All money donated is used for the benefit of the children as VinaCapitol covers the running costs of the foundation.
So far The Love Team has helped save the lives of 22 children.
I am hoping in 2012 to have a student exhibition here on the Mid North Coast and that we will donate the proceeds the VinaCapitol Heart Foundation.

The currency in Vietnam is Dong and my favorite saying, when it comes to kid's hearts is - "Every Dong makes a difference!!"
